About Vicki Schneider

From my earliest recollections, I have

been teaching something to someone.

At age four, I set up my first "school" to teach the neighborhood kids all the steps

I had been taught in my ballet class.

I take great pride in my ability to help others learn new skills. A respected expert and published author on how adults learn, I tailor the learning to the learner, making skills easy to understand and master.

I love to create beads and small

sculptures from soft glass. It's a joy to introduce others to the beauty, movement, and mystery of the medium. Initially trained at The Studio at the Corning Museum of Glass, I have taken intensive classes with Caitlin Hyde, Loren Stump, Wesley Fleming, and Bronwen Heilman.

I am particularly proud of my unique

sculpted dog necklaces. Wherever I travel,

my "Best Friends" collection gets a lot

of attention and makes people smile.

Beads of Courage

Bead Design Challenge

I am so honored to have been selected

by Beads of Courage to participate in their first Bead Design Challenge. Ten glass artists across the country were asked to create a bead conceptualized by a child associated with BOC. The bead design I am working on was drawn by 10-year-old Oscar Colunga, Jr (an honored sibling from Parkland Health and Hospital System in Texas). Oscar's adorable teddy bear astronaut answers the question "If SPIRIT was a bead"

Here is my first battalion of astronauts.

Each multicolored and fully helmeted bear is about 2" tall. The Teddy Bear Astronaut beads are available for sale at the incredibly low price of $25. This is BOC's first Bead Design Challenge. Children representing 10 hospitals across the country participated. "The Ladybug Star and the Jester's Hat" was published with pictures of all 10 beads.
